Contraindications
- Relatively "fresh" tan or leg burns
- Connective tissue diseases in the decompensated or flare-up stage (systemic lupus erythematosus, scleroderma, etc.)
- Tendency to keloid scar formation
- Decompensated conditions (in diabetes mellitus or other endocrine disorders)
- Oncological disease (active treatment phase, chemotherapy or radiation therapy)
- Congenital conditions involving impaired melanin formation
- Inflammation or wounds on the leg skin
- Pregnancy
- Acute thrombosis or arterial occlusion
How It Works
Sclerotherapy is based on the chemical intravascular effect of special solutions, or their combinations, on the endothelium of the affected vein. The first study results were reported by Kanter and Thibault in 1966, and the method was proposed for active use in 1989. Sclerosing agents are classified by mechanism of action into hyperosmolar (hypertonic glucose), detergent (polidocanol, sodium tetradecyl sulfate), and chemical (chromated glycerin) agents. Today more than 20 pharmaceutical agents for vessel obliteration are known worldwide; in Ukraine, detergents such as ethoxysclerol (polidocanol) at various concentrations are widely used.

- CLaCS (combined with cryo-cooling and laser skin coagulation)
The detergent concentration for the procedure is selected individually. After the main sclerotherapy techniques, it's important to follow the compression bandaging regimen and post-procedure conservative and topical care.
On average, at least 3 sclerotherapy sessions are needed to assess the result. The procedure is performed without anesthesia, using ultra-thin needles.

There are no seasonal contraindications, but it's advisable to avoid tanning and direct sun exposure between and after a course of procedures. Plan your procedures outside of vacation season.
